Best of: July 2020

July was a… mixed month, I think. I swung wildly between books I loved and books I hated a lot – there was not much going on in between. As such, I have a lot to rec you from what I read.

And, yes, I did go on a binge of one particular author’s backlist. I’m sure it’s quite obvious who…

  1. I did not finish a boom back in July. But got much further along reading Anna Karenina. Out of 870 pages, already on page 723. I know what I am going to next: A Darker Shade of Magic: so new series to me.

July didn’t have huge highlights. Saw Joseph on Shows Must Go On, Saw Hamilton on Disney+, and the 1957 Rodgers and Hammerstein Cinderella (but was totally out of sync).

Yesterday, a yearly family tradition happened. We usually end up at OMB- a brewery in Charlotte.

  2. Well- did not finish a book in July. Still in the middle of Anna Karenina.

Still can not understand why it takes other readers not that long to finish a ton of books in one month. I myself can only seem to read one book at a time- depending on the book, I am either a fast or slow reader

      1. It really depends on the book I am reading- some take me much quicker to read and some take me much slower to read
